Transforming Period Education:

Helping students understand their bodies, for a better period experience.

The Period Project provides engaging and informative in-school menstrual health and wellbeing education. Our programs boost body confidence and equip students with essential knowledge and tools to navigate their menstrual cycle into adulthood.

Our programs are crafted and delivered by a Registered Nurse and are available NZ wide.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU AND YOUR STUDENTS

Periods are starting earlier.

Many students now get their first period at age 8 or 9. Periods shouldn't be feared or viewed negatively, so it's crucial to normalise and educate about periods before they begin.

Early period experiences shape future relationships with their their body and health.

Give your students memorable, enjoyable period education with a well being focus!

Periods are a normal part of life.

Periods shouldn’t be a barrier to students' schooling or well being, yet period pain is the top reason teenage girls miss class.

New Zealand research shows students want more practical knowledge about periods, including period products and tracking, rather than just the biological process.

We go beyond the curriculum, empowering students to navigate hormones, understand their bodies, and manage period symptoms with confidence!

Talking periods with kids.

Period education has evolved since the days of the old 'period talk.' Many parents find it challenging to discuss periods comfortably and lack the knowledge to provide adequate support.

How can you normalise periods at home? What symptoms are concerning, and what options are available? Is it okay for your teen to stop their period if they prefer?

Get the answers you need to support your tween or teen, along with insights you didn't know you needed!

NOTES FROM HAPPY TEACHERS

β€œThat was fantastic. Pitched at the right level and the students loved it. We would definitely like you to come back next year!”

Michelle, Chilton Saint James School.

β€œThe session was interactive and fun, with lots of visuals that really helped the girls understand what's happening with their bodies. They covered everything – from what a period is to how to handle it with confidence. It was great to see the girls asking questions and really getting involved!

Sophie, Douglas Park School.

β€œI recommend this programme to all students across the country. This is information the students need, and I’m looking forward to working with Bex again at our School.

Leanne, Head of Health, Wairarapa College.
